Mouth-watering itinerary to Prekmurje, to enjoy the beauty of the nature and gourmet food, in the splendid setting of the Pannonian plain.
3 DAYS / 2 NIGHTS
1. DAY: LJUBLJANA > SLOVENSKE GORICE > KAPELA > RADENCI
Pick up in Ljubljana or at the Brnik Airport of Jozeta Pucnika and transfer to Slovenske Gorice. They offer their own, home produced food: the tasty appetizer made from various salami, cheese, special goose liver pate, cottage cheese with spices, ham lard with different types of bread baked at home, seasons vegetable soup, soup with homemade noodles. The abundant main dish made with their meat specialties and lots of garnishes…to end in stile, homemade desert. In the evening visit of Kapela – church consecrated to saint Mari Magdalene, located at the top of here the hill that offers a magnificent view on the three bordering countries and the 48 church towers of the nearby churches. Continuation for Radenci, walk in the thermal park where we are given a glass of wholesome water that will help us digest. In the evening check in at the hotel, dinner and overnight stay.
2. DAY: RADENCI > MURA > LENDAVA > BUKOVNISKO JEZERO > BOGOJINA
Buffet breakfast and strait towards the Ozmec stork of pumpkin seed oil, that has mutated in the nature and therefore the seeds inside the pumpkin are skinless. The farmers will prepare for us different oil samples, some pumpkin oil desserts and their special chocolate based on pumpkin oil. Later on we visit the old mill on the Mura river where you could buy biological flower to bake bread and polenta at home. Typical home meal with dishes of old, remote times when the surrounding area was still rural and intact. They will prepare us some dishes of refined flavors that you have hardly tasted before. They start with beans soup, than ritos which are rolls made of cabbage and meat, proceeding with cebulna gibnica that is a sort of pizza with cheese and onions baked in oven and to end to complete the meal in style, homemade dessert. In the evening the visit of the famous wooden theatre building in Lendava, that represent the typical local village. Just taking a coffee in the theatre will give your imagination wings and put you in a good mood. Later on, we stop at the Bukovnisko lake, a wonderful patch of water set in a stunning frame of towering oaks. We leave the lake and proceed to the miraculous spring of St. Vito known for the goodness of its water that heals the eyesight, hearing and skin. At the return, short visit of the Bogojina church engineered by Plecnik, our most important architect, although he was more known in Vienna and Paris that at his home. He put the majolica’s on the altar and the colored plates on the ceiling, all part of the local art. In this way he approached the ecclesiastic doctrine to the farmers that have always been tight to the land and the vines. Soon the church became a peregrine destination. Return in the hotel for buffet dinner and overnight stay.
3. DAY: RADENCI > LJUBLJANA
Breakfast in the hotel and departure towards Ljubljana, the capital city of Slovenia. Ljubljana is the major political, economic , artistic and cultural center of the State. It’s found in the central position of the national territory and has a good connection system that links it to all the major centers of Slovenia, besides Trieste. Ljubljana draws life from its medieval old town, nestled in the shadow of the old castle on the banks of the homonymous river. The name of the town comes out from the word “ljubezen” that means “love”; we call it my beloved. Final lunch, very rich and tasteful at a nearby agritourism.
